This thematic report explains the social determinants of health and the quality life based on the 2014 Census report. It provides an in-depth analysis of fertility, child marriage, pregnancy risks and the social and environmental factors that impact on health and survival of women, children and adolescents. The report makes the case for the urgent need to tackle the immediate causes of death and morbidity among women, newborns, adolescents and youth, while putting in longer-term efforts to strengthen the health system and address the social determinants of health.
