UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund works to deliver a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person’s potential is fulfilled. We are also the leading United Nations agency that supports Government of Uganda to generate data for planning and decision making. We ensure empowerment of women, adolescents and young people to live their dream and fulfill their potential. UNFPA is active in 54 districts across Uganda, including those that are hosting refugees. At policy and advocacy level, UNFPA interventions have impact nationwide. We further expand the scope of our work by partnering with civil society, academic institutions and the private sector.  We also work with parliamentarians to review progress in implementing the ICPD Programme of Action and participate in, and administer a number of pooled funding mechanisms - including the Joint Programmes on Female Genital Mutilation, Gender-Based Violence and HIV/AIDS.
